Want to support local restaurants? Curious about new openings or secret discoveries? Here are five restaurants that I suggest you try this month!

1. Los Guachos Taquería
We remembered lately how much we love Los Guachos. They are rightly known for their tacos al pastor, which are 2 for 1 every Monday, as well as their gringas al pastor, which are $2 every Wednesday. It’s always a pleasure to watch them skillfully slice the marinated pork on the giant trompo. And while we love the al pastor, there are plenty of winners on the menu at Los Guachos.

2. Main Moon
We’ve been passing by Main Moon Chinese Restaurant for years, ignoring it on the Strip which includes Velca Grill, Hungarian Butcher and Cameron’s Bistro. But convinced by friends to give a whirl, we were immediately won over. Go for hot chili oil dumplings (pictured here), Chengdu cold noodles, dan dan noodles, Chongqin spicy chicken.

3. Fox in the Snow
Look, I know most of us don’t need convincing to visit Fox in the Snow, but it’s TOMATO PIE SEASON at the cafe. These gorgeous seasonal treats give you one more reason to visit — as if the coffee and cinnamon buns and egg sandwiches and blueberry pancakes and Swiss ham and croissants weren’t reason enough. Now, who is counting the days until their Dublin branch opens?

4. Authentic cuisine
True Food Kitchen in Easton has always wowed us with their dynamic menus, and their recent seasonal additions are no exception. Visit them for colorful dishes like refreshing fizzy apricot tea and lemonade, fresh burrata, farmer’s market veggies, tuna poke, grass-fed burgers, spinach pizzas and to mushrooms. They also have a full coffee bar and cocktails.

5. Nile Vegan
It seems like we’re always craving Ethiopian food, and if you’re a plant eater, Nile Vegan is here to satisfy those cravings. Our favorite way to experience Ethiopian cuisine is with a group, so you can order a giant platter to share. Ethiopian cuisine is eaten with the hands, using the spongy injera bread to scoop up bites of different stews with vegetables, lentils, split peas, potatoes, and more.
