As I regularly work downtown, the Long Street shop and roastery of Brioso Coffee is one of my favorite stops. Brioso has been active for over 20 years, opening its first store on the northeast corner of Gay and High Streets before moving to Catty Corner in 2020.

They added their Long Street store and moved the roastery there in 2016.

Brioso is a favorite with me not only for its excellent roasts, but also for its cozy, quiet space and friendly baristas.

I especially like that this shop is relatively quiet (even with the roaster at work).

It’s not huge, but it does include a collection of low wooden communal tables, a few tops, and more comfortable chairs perfect for relaxing with an espresso, reading, or working.

It’s hard to go wrong with their entire coffee menu, but I especially love the Ohio Maple Latte. It’s great hot or iced.

While queuing, you can often see the roaster at work.

Brioso’s coffee appears on the menus of cafes and cafes across the city. You can buy whole grains and brewing supplies from their store. I particularly like their Espresso Milano and Costa Rican roasts.

Brioso on Long Street is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
